Nancy Clare Murphy
Nancy is a licensed massage therapist and a graduate of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (2004). She offers a variety of bodywork session options which include: Manual Lymph Drainage, massage for relaxation, traditional Swedish massage, oncology massage, energy work, or a combination of massage techniques.
For those who prefer them to the usual 60-minute massage, she also offers shorter sessions: 30 minutes of table work, or 20 minutes of chair massage.
Nancy is also a Reiki master practitioner (1999) and was initiated into the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki tradition, gratefully honoring the healing lineage of Usui, Hayashi, Takata, Gray, and Kinch.
Having begun practicing Kriya yoga meditation in 1985, she found working with the human energy field and its anatomy to be a natural fit for her professionally, emotionally, and spiritually.
As a practice specialty, Nancy’s greatest strength lies in incorporating Manual Lymph Drainage and Reiki with therapeutic massage. She is particularly interested in, and suited to, working with clients who are perhaps a bit more fragile than most. She has worked with critically ill patients providing palliative care, and in a nursing home setting with disabled patients. She looks eagerly forward to the day when massage therapy will become an integral part of every long-term patient’s care.
Nancy is keenly aware that therapeutic touch has the power to help us feel more at home in our bodies and more connected in our lives.
