Meet Dr. Lou
Dr. Louis Cofrancesco is a chiropractor located in Woodbridge, CT with a unique perspective regarding the elements of what is required to keep the human body healthy. Those elements include:
- Maintaining a healthy nervous system
- Proper diet
- Exercise
- A balanced lifestyle
Dr. Lou specializes in the Gonstead Method, which varies from traditional chiropractic methods in that it utilizes full-spine standing x-rays, biomechanical analysis and specific adjusting. Dr. Lou has been an active member of the Gonstead Clinical Study society in Wisconsin since 1986.
He first became aware of chiropractic when he himself suffered from neuromuscular issues as a result of a history of minor childhood injuries, and the ergonomic stressors of his first profession as a cabinetmaker. Though having been successful as a woodworker, Dr. Lou decided to pursue his real passion in the healing arts, specifically chiropractic. He began his breakthrough into healing by completing the second class at the Connecticut Center for Massage in 1981 and then opening the first therapeutic massage clinic in New Haven, CT. Dr. Lou then attended Southern Connecticut State University completing his Pre-Med studies and then moved on to the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic where he earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1989.
In 1990, Dr. Lou opened Bethany Chiropractic Center in Bethany, CT, which later moved to Woodbridge, CT in 1994. He developed a style of engaging his patients with humor, a positive outlook and his knowledge of spinal function. The pleasant atmosphere in his office offers his patients time to unwind and relax.
For over 3 decades, Dr. Lou has dedicated himself to the Healing Arts, specifically within the neuromusculoskeletal system. He has successfully treated patients from a variety of backgrounds including performing artists, musicians, educators, physicians, nurses, manual laborers, gymnasts, corporate executives and athletes.
Dr. Lou’s mission is to Improve the Health of Our Community. Utilizing the knowledge that the body is a self-healing organism, and the nervous system is the master controller of all functions, it naturally follows that a well-maintained nervous system is the foundation for the body to reach its full potential of healing and wellness.
