Katherine Harrington, LMT

Katherine is a licensed massage therapist, graduating from East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon in 2016.  Before her massage school training, Katherine attained a Bachelor’s in Biology, with a focused study in human physiology and anatomy.  With that extensive educational background coupled with her love of endurance sports (cycling, cross country skiing, swimming), Katherine is very knowledgeable about how the human body moves.  She offers Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage and is particularly enthusiastic about Thai Massage.

For those who are not familiar with what traditional Thai Massage is, the best way to describe it is as a movement therapy that combines passive yoga stretching and compression using tools such as hands, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet.  It can also be referred to as Thai Yoga.  It is traditionally performed on a thick mat rather than a table and the client is fully clothed.

Katherine is fascinated with how the body can heal itself when given encouragement and the opportunity to do so. She considers herself a facilitator of the natural healing process and truly believes in the power of massage as a clinical approach to that process.
